Comfortmaker Central Air Conditioner Reviews

I have been installing a/c 30 years and started with comfortmaker, and I seen these same homes still with the same Comfortmaker from way back then, That is why I still install Comfortmaker, These reviews I see here all sound like inexperienced installers and serviceman and companies covering their ass and blame the manufacturer or just ripping you off. Most a/c units and brands are the same — some maybe a little better but are mostly the same. Same compressor and controls. It all comes down to the installation. So you can't really base anything on these reviews, I see bad install of all brands and most home owner blame the a/c manufacturer not the installer. It would be like me having my house sided and the installer not nailing tight enough and the siding falls down and I blame the siding manufacturer. Homeowners don't understand how important the installation is or even if the installers doing it right. They have to go by what they're being told. Comfortmaker is a very good brand and I will continue to sell and install with confidence. I'm selling my customer quality brand a/c or furnace.

We just had the new system installed and is working great. Our contractor explained the system has a 10-year warranty. He said if there is an issue, parts are easy to get but we should have to call him until 10 years.

"One Problem After Another, Don't Buy Comfortmaker"

Brand new system installed in October 2008. Air handler has since been replaced, and now coils in outside unit are leaking. Here's the kicker, although the coils are under warranty, Comfortmaker is charging $250 in shipping and handling for standard ground shipping. The company is sketchy and seems to be running a scam warranty service. I've spent over $2000 on repairs and labor since purchasing the system brand new. I wish I had gone with a Trane or some other reputable company.

I bought a new house, which is now 4 years old, with a dual zone A/C. A couple weeks back my upstairs unit completely went out on me. At first the technician assumed it was gonna be a some what simple solution but after attempting to put fluid in the a/c, a $279 job, he quickly realized that was not the problem. Then he thought maybe its the coil, a$971 which I was pissed about the price but got over it. Then he ran some more test and found out it was the compressor, which means I have to replace the whole system because no one carries parts for this piece of garbage a/c anymore $4000. Now for some reason builders thought it was a good idea to put comfortmaker into their new homes even though they knew this brand was a piece of garbage and was about to be obsolete because once they sold the house they knew it would no longer be their problem. That's just bad business all around. Now I'm stuck in 102 degree weather with no a/c in the part of the house I mainly need it for. Upstairs! The price of homeowner ship.
