"Experienced York tech"

Reading through the reviews I can tell you a properly installed York system that is properly maintained will last 20 to 25 years. I replace 40-year-old Yorks on a regular basis. I don't work for York but I do work on their products. Comments like system breaking/leaking/etc are 99.5 % related to the installer and poor installation. York does require a precise installation due to the coil they use. Too much refrigerant at install causes a leak. If the compressor is failing there is short which means the wiring was not inspected at installation. Lastly, York and parent company jci are the 5th largest manufacturer in the world. When you build the quantity they do once in a while you have a bad product but the issue appears on day 1.

"YORK PA original product"

Love our American made york. Installed by a great company with 10 years all parts and labor warranty with a lifetime heat exchanger and compressor warranty. All transferable. Never had it fail in 7 years. We keep up on our maintenance and it never let us down. Highly recommend this brand installed by a reputable dealer.

"Lasted 3 years even after expensive repairs"

Within 3 years I have already put so much money into this unit. It is a piece of junk. I went ahead and replaced it because the repairs are so expensive. I went with a Trane this time I hope it serves me better than this York did. I will never buy a York product again.

I am a mechanical and plumbing contractor in Manhattan KS. I can't believe the bad reviews York is getting. Every brand of HVAC equipment will have problems, remember they are an electrical mechanical operating device. York has stood behind every problem I might have and remember your equipment is only as good as the contractor installing it. Yes I have had some major problems but I stand behind my work and York equipment. So if you have a bad experience with York, you should probably look at your installing contractor!! Any company can slap in a piece of equipment, get your money and leave.

"Biggest & most expensive mistake of my life"

1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied

I am 63 and have purchased many, many items both big & small in my life; this is by far the worst purchase I have ever made for both material & customer service. I replaced a 28 year old, still working, Bryant HVAC with this new York HVAC system. In obtaining quotes for "replacement" HVAC companies was giving me prices for what you would think is a new install, York dealers were by far the worst. My impression, worst than used car salesmen. Attempted to register the equipment online twice, twice wrote actual letters to York corporate asking them to confirm registration; no reply. Called twice and left messages; no reply. Emails; no reply. Now that evap coil has been identified as defective, and yes mine failed, in a class action suit, recently settled, in checking York website they are saying all 3 pieces of equipment I bought 2 1/2 yrs ago is still at the distributor, as I had surmised by their no response; not registered. York dealers will not return my phone calls because of my mistake of telling them up front that evap coil is to be replaced under warranty because sold knowing that it was defective according to court records. At one time York was the brand to buy, best in the business; now Will never ever buy anything with York name. Second house I own just last year had a Trane system newly installed. See cost them evan more in a lost sale. For now have to wait for settlement rep decide when and how much I am entitled to, evan tho will never recover for the hot period that we were without a/c and York dealer who recharged 2 yr old system with 3lb of refrigerant and cleaning that froze up again 2 weeks later. Common sense should have told him their was a leak with that much refrigerant needed.
