Other Quantum 90 Reviews
A thread on the forum heatinghelp.com reveals a homeowner having problems with his Dunkirk Q-90 boiler turning off for no reason. One contractor defends the brand, and a Dunkirk representative even responds to the complaint. The homeowner concludes by saying that his HVAC company no longer installs the Dunkirk brand due to several problems. The original poster on the forum actually writes for several years about how the Q-90 boiler shuts off at random. The experts conclude that a professional should be consulted.
Hvac-talk.com contains a post comparing a Carrier boiler and a Weil-McLean boiler. An expert on the forum explains that the Carrier boiler is actually the Dunkirk Q-90. The contractors on the forum say that the Carrier may not be worth the extra cost as compared to the Weil-McLean, although the Carrier is more efficient.
A homeowner asks on gardenweb.com about the cost of a high-efficiency boiler such as the Dunkirk Q-90 versus a lower-efficiency boiler that costs thousands less. An expert responds that the higher-efficiency boilers save money in operation, so selection should depend on how long the homeowner plans to stay in the home.
