"Mine is 2.5 years old and we have had problems with it from day 1, we were told from our furnace company they have calls consta"

These are junk. I know of 6 in my area that have constant problems with these boilers. Mine is 2.5 years old and we have had nothing but problems every winter. Our heating repair company said they were junk and 3 winters we have had this thing repaired 10 times. Now it will cost us mega to get a new system. I will go with wile-McClain this time. My lawyer said we will get a full refund but we need to go to court with the company. They will not answer their calls and will not call back.

Its been 2 years and the boiler broke! Customer service is hard to deal with… Please, don't buy this brand. If you get it for free try to recycle it and buy something decent.

Bought this unit in Oct of 2017. Had nothing but problems for 3 months. Figured out myself that the blower fan was freezing up because it was cold out. Removed the intake boot to allow fresh warm air in and managed to keep it going for another month. Had to reset multiple times with err11 constantly going off. Got a tech on the phone and managed to diagnose a leaking fire tube. Put in for warranty and received a new unit. Installed again and started getting the odd err11 but not as often as before. Ran throughout summer and most of fall. Now, whenever it gets cold out I am getting err11 again. This boiler is not reliable. If I had my time back it would go right back to the distributor. So extremely unhappy with it.

Broke again. No hot water this time is the latest problem. In 2 1/2 years, at least 7 service calls. Buyer beware.Buying an HTP furnace was the biggest mistake I ever made for my home!

"Beware, unreliable, expensive to maintain but cheap for contractors."

This "Elite Fire Tube Combo" came installed with home purchased in July 2015. In Oct 2016 the 3 way valve had to be replaced. The warranty would have covered the part ($85.00) but did not cover the labor $475. I did not bother with warranty because the weather was cold and we needed a fast fix. A mere 5 months later in March 2018, the mixing valve ($168) had to be replaced. The labor for this was $263. I did call htp this time. The woman I spoke to was decidedly frosty and said that they would replace part if I could prove I was the original owner. I was asked to produce the occupancy permit from the town. Once again I paid out of pocket because of the cold weather but planned to file for reimbursement. You can't go without heat and hot water for very long in Maine in the winter. When part was replaced the plumber received another error message that the "mother board" needed to be replaced as well as another part. At this point I put the brakes on, did some research (including on this web site. My thanks to others who wrote in). It made no sense to put more money into a unreliable boiler with frequent and expensive repairs. I ended up replacing the HTP boiler with a Bosch boiler, which has great reviews. It may be a bargain for contractors but not for a home owner who wants reliable heat and hot water!
