"Warranty is a joke"

We have installed Peerless boilers for over 20 years. We recently had a boiler fail after around 12 years of service. Installed 11/07. There was a giant hole spraying water into the top area of the combustion chamber right below the supply outlet. Peerless representatives have said it is not a manufacturing defect and have only offered the customer a $500 credit towards the $2400 cost of a new boiler. I will never sell another one of these boilers ever again.

"Peerless will not cover lifetime waranty on water boiler"

1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied

I purchased a peerless home heating system with a water boiler. At that time, I was told the boiler would be covered with a life time warranty and for this reason I decided to go with the Peerless system. I noticed the upper bedrooms were not getting very warm and had a service technician check on the system. I was told the boiler was leaking and since it was stated at the time of installation I thought it would be covered by the lifetime warranty. After weeks of phone calls to the installation company, the regional sales representative, and the manufacturing home office I am still left in the cold. I was told that after one to five years they say it not a manufacturing problem and they refuse to cover it. So much for their lifetime warranty. That is a very false and misleading statement given by the company on thier sales information. Beware!!!! I will never deal with this company again!!!

"Amazingly efficient and cost saving boiler."

In December 2014 my old boiler went completely out and I had a new installation done. I did not know much about boilers at the time and did some research and was familiar with the Peerless name from advertisements and also family. The home heating company I contracted also recommended the brand and model for my situation, so I went ahead and had it done. It was an all day job and extremely cold outside and inside. Things went smoothly with the installation/replacement and it worked with great ease to heat up the entire house quickly. Both zones worked perfectly (the top one had issues in the past) but this boiler did the job. I like the user interface and the lighting alerts on the boiler, it is very quiet compared to my old one and seems to turn on a lot less. The best part about it is the cost savings, it is super efficient and burns about half the amount of oil of the old one. I am completely satisfied and would without question buy this brand again if needed and recommend the brand to family and anyone in need, I honestly cannot be happier.

We've had the boiler for less than one year. Our old boiler was beginning to have issues and we decided it was time for a new one. After shopping around for a while on the internet and conferring with some other guys in the business I came to the conclusion that this would satisfy our needs. It is used in a small elementary school setting. It has been capable of everything we have needed so far. Our previous boiler was a peerless too and it was very reliable. I would definitely recommend this brand to others. We like that it is quiet and have yet to have any major mechanical issues. So far we don't dislike anything. As I mentioned previously we have owned it and had it operational for less than one year. It is under warranty and I don't forsee having any problems in the near future. Time will tell. Yes, we have used other Peerless boilers before as well.

"Lasts 13 years"

I've got a water coil leaking. It needs to be fixed but the boiler man says it might need to be replaced with a new one. I thought I bought a quality boiler. It's sad. Don't they make a U.S.A boiler that will last more than 13 years?

Other WBV/WV Reviews

Most of the problems with the WBV/WV listed on HVAC forums are minor, and a few have nothing to do with the unit itself. These include a faulty tempering valve and a faulty showerhead that was causing the homeowner to think there was not enough hot water being produced. A consumer on doityourself.com emailed Peerless about converting the unit to gas and said the company replied promptly, although the information given was not very useful.

WBV/WV Warranty

    • Full 1-year warranty
    • Limited lifetime warranty on cast iron sections of residential hot water boilers

Limited 10-year warranty on cast iron sections of residential steam boilers

Labor costs are not covered by the warranty.
