Ameristar Furnace Reviews
"If you are looking for 80% efficiency, look elsewhere"
Installed February 2019 in Central New York State. Replaced a 32-year-old furnace. The 80%, single stage model is very loud, especially in the startup phase. While the installation contractor was professional, efficient and personable… I regret buying this furnace. The air conditioner will be replaced in the Spring. It won't be an Ameristar product.
"Noisey Shutdown Fan"
Had installed in October 2017. Start-up and heating is excellent. The problem is when the fan shuts down, it makes a "moaning" sound that lasts from 3 to 7 seconds after you think it has shut down. Installer looked at and said that it was normal. With the furnace next to the living room this is definitely a nuisance.
Quiet, efficient, very nice furnace
"Great product, no issues!"
This is a great product line we have purchased and installed many of the Ameristar furnaces and air conditioning units. Good solid quality reliable and have had no issues with them. Like anything else when it comes to heating and cooling equipment it's 90% about the installation process that is used by installing company . Please be leery of anybody who complains about the product when you can read in the review it is something that is clearly tied back to an installation related issue from the company or individual installing the equipment, not the product itself. There are many reviews on all different brands across the Internet that are installed related versus product related. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying all brands are created equal they're not and you should be leery of anybody telling you otherwise. That being said in my opinion over 80% of the reviews that I have read all over the Internet are mostly related to the installation process that was or was not used versus the quality of the product itself. When you are installing a piece of heating or cooling equipment you are literally completing the manufacturing process and homeowners and inexperienced individual should not be installing heating and cooling equipment. In fact this should only be done by a licensed bonded insured trained professional who completes a proper, professional and manufacture recommended start up that includes: testing, measuring and proper adjusting with retesting after adjustment. This requires certain and specific tools to the HVAC industry with precise knowledge and experience of this process to consider a system to be properly installed and ensure a systems safety and integrity. Thank you!
"9 years in, looking at the 2nd major repair"
You can buy a lot of gas for the cost of repairs for the high efficiency furnace. The installer said it was a great furnace, now it is not starting again. Last year we were into $700.00 for repairs,
