Bought furnace in Fall 2015. Worked great the first year. It has broken every year since whenever it gets very cold. Would never recommend this brand.

"Great furnace"

5.0 rating

A very quiet and efficient furnace. Love the variable speed fan and 2- stage heat. Makes the Home very comfortable. For maximum utilization of all the features include a Bryant Evolution Connex thermostat. If you do not use the Connex thermostat, the furnace has adaptive controls to run the furnace but you sacrifice control of some of the features for your specific home.

"Expensive early failure"

Air handler stopped running, but compressor and compressor fan still ran. Complete system just 2 years old. 10-year parts warranty is not worth much when parts fail after just 2 years. Diagnostic costs were $141 and labor to replace the blower motor and control panel was $286. The replacement time after parts were procured was under 10 minutes! Online, the motor could be had for $155 and the control panel was $43. I paid $427 for this warranty work. Pretty obvious to me that I paid for the “free” parts through grossly overcharged labor rates. Won’t ever buy or recommend this brand again.

"Review of my Bryant Furnace and why it is the best Furnace to go with."

4.0 rating
Somewhat Satisfied

I have owned this furnace for about 1 year. It is affordable and it works decent. The quality is nothing to complain about, although the customer service can use a little improvement. I never had to have someone come out and repair it, but I did have a few questions and I did call Customer Service before. It seemed as if they were too busy to give me any good answers to my questions and it seemed as if my questions were not an important matter to them. However, besides that, this furnace is a pretty decent one and the quality of it is about a 7/10. I probably might try a different brand in the future and I’m not sure if I would recommend anyone to purchase it, but I do recommend looking into one of these furnaces.

"Furnace in Attic"

5.0 rating
Very Satisfied

I moved into my house about ten years ago and was very unhappy with my Lennox furnace that was installed in my attic above my bedroom. It was very noisy and it seemed like I was always having to replace parts. Then one year our heating company found a crack in the furnace and recommended a Bryant furnace to us. We have been very happy it is quiet and dependable. I also actually noticed a savings on my gas bill.

Other Evolution 80v Reviews

Comments on HVAC-Talk message boards and heating contractor sites are rather critical regarding certain parts of Bryant Furnaces:

  • Bryant has had absolutely no problems whatsoever over the past 20 years, according to a guest at the HVAC-Talk forums, but the compressor keeps failing. Poorly installed or designed wiring affects part-performance.
  • With other Bryant units, a couple of others at the HVAC-Talk forums insist that the problem involves the pilot, not the compressor. As a result, the flame either won’t go on or immediately goes out after ignition
  • Bryant’s five-wire valves are confounding and troublesome, according to one service tech at the HVAC-Talk forums. Pilot activation, which is essential for the heater or boiler to work, is hindered, and therefore no flame can be lit. Bryant’s wiring makes maintenance and repair all the more difficult in the process.
