Today I got my Goodman 96% efficient furnace installed. I was told when we first put it in that I would smell an oil burn smell and it would burn off and it did we opened all the windows. I hired a licensed HVAC technician I took 2 days to install the ducts condensation pipes outside etc. I live in a 500 square-foot home that’s 120 years old. This house has only one level one bedroom. The heating comes through the grate in the hallway floor. The great measures 26″x26″. The ducts run under the living room floor only one duct. So the heat is coming through the grate. The furnace is right underneath the great and the heat is blowing up the picture a Marilyn Monroe style if you will of powerful hot is coming up as you walk to the hallway over the grate. The Goodman furnace is very very loud and the tech told me to let it run 2 hours after he left the oil burned off but then after that the house started to smell like the bottom Ava dirty hamster cage. My windows will open for 3 hours and every time the heat kicked up it smelled. This is the first day of install. I had to turn the unit off completely on the thermostat I don’t know what I’m going to do and has anybody ever had this problem of this nasty smell?

"Damage item – poor packaging"

Very disappointed until now we did not install it yet so I can’t tell if it is working or not. The furnace is damage in all 4 corners, bent ,dent and scratch all over, due to the poor packaging, I don’t understand why the heavy item is not in the box or at least place on a pallet, instead just wrap with a tiny plastic wrapper and a little cardboard on edges , nothing protect on the bottom or top area . I took pictures and sent to Amazon delivery area but never heard any response , I am not happy of this situation. Not recommended this to anyone .

This unit came with a 1047 square foot home I purchased in April 2015. It is matched with a Goodman air handler and outdoor GSX13 condensing unit. This is my first experience with a high efficiency furnace. I am pleased so far. It does the job with little drama although the draft inducer motor startup was a new experience. It is a 60,000 BTU unit, natural gas. It has performed flawlessly thus far. The furnace was professionally installed by a licensed HVAC contractor, not a backyard hack job. That is probably why it works as well as it does. Time will tell how reliable it is. I did find out it was built in one of Goodman’s unionized factories in Tennessee.

"Great product for a great price"

I bought this furnace a little over a year ago and I must say that it has yet to let me down. It was easy to get going at first, I had my neighbor next door help me install it because I’m not too handy with this kind of stuff. He said it wasn’t too hard to install, however, for someone who knows what they’re doing or wants to take the time to Google it. We haven’t had any problems with it since we bought it and haven’t needed any repairs or anything. I would absolutely recommend this product or any Goodman product to a friend as it does exactly what it is intended to do for a reasonable price. The only thing I dislike about it is that I wish there was a way to buy one that’s not so heavy because I ended up having to pay some people to carry it for me and even transport it. This is a small request, however, because transportation is hopefully something you will only have to do once with a product like this.
