"Heater required new motherboard after 7 months"
Guardian Heater Model # 3 RGF 1l080cp16mp11 Serial # w1a8453875 After 7 months of installation, and first time using it, only blew cold air. Required a new motherboard, cost $762, Warranty was not honored. Later discovered this is a low-end inexpensive product which is installed by contractors when they want more of a profit on a job.
I have had this furnace for 2 years. Nothing but problems. I will be replacing it! Waste of money and time! I hate to even turn it on in the fall because I am just waiting for it to not work right, which happened again today!
Blower motor broke after a few years chinese junk parts temp sensor went bad now its time to replace the control board. I have had this furnace about 9 yrs and it has broke 5 times. Hunks stay away
My Guardian/york furnace was installed 9 years ago and has required regular repairs in the past 5 years. The blower motor went out after 5 years. I have also replaced the flame sensor and a temperature control after those items went out in following years. The condensate pan developed cracks two years ago that leaked corrosive water onto the sheet metal inside the unit. I initially removed and patched the pan in an attempt at avoiding another costly repair but, have recently found new leaks. The furnace is reliable in that I can count on it going down one or multiple times per winter. Guardian customer service was obviously not interested in helping. I would recommend avoiding any products by this company.
I have only had this furnace for a few years and have had to have something replaced every year. I have replaced the blower 2 times in 6 years and have only had the furnace 7. I have also relaced motors in it and now the board is no longer working. Or at least that is the current guess. There is no error code for the error its giving so the Guardian thinks the board is just bad. This is a lot of fun to have a furnace not working again when its down to -11 outside. Service man told me that they stopped selling this furnace because of all the problem with them they see. Just wish I knew that before I bought it. I will not ever be getting this name brand again.
