"It’s A Brand New Relic Already"

Very Unsatisfied

Dealer in Glenwood Springs, Colorado refuses to order service replacement parts because they only like big install jobs and hate small jobs like getting replacement parts. So we have a big expensive Lennox furnace that is totally unusable. A call to the main Lennox company was terrible, they couldn’t care less about their clients or consumers. I was politely told they couldn’t care less, if I can’t get a part from the dealer, it’s just too bad! Enjoy your Lennox furnace for the first year, then like we have to, replace it with a unit from a company that will sell spare parts.

"Unreliable"

The furnace and a/c were purchased in 2007. They worked well for the first few years. For the last 6 years the furnace has quit working 1 or 2 times a year on some of the coldest days of the year. Moisture builds up in the drain lines or the High Fire Combustion Air Pressure Prove Switch. I have finally watched the repairment do it so often that I have been able to get it running the last 2 years.

"Elite Furnace is Terrible"

Bought furnace and ac together from FHFurr. Today spent $115 just to find out motor has failed; has to be ordered with no eta given; another $500+ just to have new motor installed. Do NOT buy a Lennox. Warranty only for the motor and not labor. Read warranty carefully!

"Great Furnace/ AC"

5.0 rating
Very Satisfied

I purchased my Furnace/AC units in 1999. It kept my house warm in the Winter, cool in the Summer for 18 years without a hitch. The only maintenance that I have performed in that time is change the batteries in the thermostat and replace the air filter yearly. I did place a drop on the lubrication point on the exhaust fan 7 years after installation. I live in Michigan.

"G51mp – 110"

The furnace literally from day one did not blow hot air consistently and from 2004 to now has been a pain in the rump. Changed circuit board way back. I use my wood stove as primary heat so I hardly run it. Now, because if fires, shuts off, runs for a minute shuts off, sits, wait, fires I decided to take matters into my own hands. After disassembling the cold condenser box it could be seen the fouled secondary heat exchanger. Reviewing the manual, and the installation I realized the furnace is not level, in fact, half an inch to the back. It should be level or half an inch to the front. The condensate builds up in the lower tubes. Probably a common problem of drainage. Horrible fouled. Cleaned tubes, leveled with 1/2 inch to the front, runs like a charm now. 12 years of torture when I used it which was not often.

Other Elite Reviews

An HVAC installer writes on the hvacsite.com forum about a problem with his personal Lennox Elite furnace. He is having trouble with the fan turning on and off properly; the experts at the forum agree that the problem is probably a faulty electrical board.

Another post on hvac-talk.com points out the fact that most HVAC forums highly recommend Lennox and Carrier products. Installers often say a homeowner cannot go wrong with these companies, and they should compare warranties, rebates, and tax credits to make a decision.

A writer on diychatroom.com has inherited a Lennox Elite furnace with the purchase of an existing home. He does not believe it has been serviced, and he is having problems with fan noise and the thermostat. The contractors online direct the homeowner to clean several parts on the furnace, and then see what happens. The post makes a good point about regular service check-ups.
