"Nothing Runs Like a TRANE"

5.0 rating
Very Satisfied

Great Product lasted 31 years. It was installed by the previous owners. We have been in this house for 21 years replaced the unit a few months ago with another trane furnace. In the 20 years we had it I think we had it serviced 3 times. Lets hope the new one is as good. What I liked about the unit was that it worked. Worth paying the extra money for product still built in U.S.A, unlike some others.

"This trane is on time all the time"

I’m a contracor and have the flexibility to install almost any major brand I want. Over the course of my 25years in the business, I’ve been an factory installer for three brands and I’ve serviced all the major brands. One things I’ve seen, easlity 75% of furnace repairs for equipment under 8 years old are due to poor installation and/or maintance. People should first look to their installer – make sure you get one who backs up their work – check BBB and refernces/Friends/etc. Now to Trane, I can attest to the value that Trane presents. They are consistantly one of the best quality products out there. They make their equipemnt in the USA, you’d be surprose how much equipment comes out of Asian sweat shops. One of the prior reviews talked about how hard parts are to get for Trane – thats is a lie your contractor is telling you – Trane has Warehouses throughout the USA with parts. I’ve never had to wait longer than 24 hrs. When sonething goes bad its usually happens within the first 30 days, electronics are that way. I know that Trane tests their furnaces and A/C equipment before it leaves the factory(sometines twice). Its a premium brand – so its expensive compared to other equipement – you just need to decide whats it worth to you. I highly recommend Trane over any other brand. Make sure you do your homework on your service comnpany – it can make all the difference.

A best buy! These units are built heavy duty and in the USA. They even weigh more then the competition. From the Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger to the Modulating GAs valve these are built to last and be efficient. Throw in great service, the best reputation and 10 year warrenty and I’m sold. Three years running and its been a gem.

Great Brand – high quality. Hard to believe anyone has a bad experience with this equipment – can only attest to the value of a good installer. We’ve had our new furnace, XC90i for two years now. Great machine, runs quite and keeps the house toasty warm. Installers were great, addressed a few issues with the duct work that the last installer made(Carrier).

Installed new furnace with modulating gas valve and variable fan. What a great furnace this has been. I’ve owned probably more than 6 different furnace brands in my life, without a doubt this is the best. This furnace never seems taxed, handles keeping the house warm no matter the outside conditions. Like they say, the good ones make it look easy.

Other XL1200 Reviews

Consumer forums such as hvac-talk.com and doityourself.com post a series of troubleshooting inquiries about the XL 1200. Questions commonly include problems with the unit failing to heat, broken components, and simple general maintenance issues. However, several of these posts are more than 10 years old, clearly showing the model's age.

Contractors on these forums do mention that the XL1200 is a dependable unit that should provide years of reliable service if properly maintained and installed. Still, some note this unit may not be the best choice to keep around the home for maximum efficiency. Because this dated unit has a low SEER and AFUE, homeowners will be paying more to heat and cool their home than with a newer HVAC product. An expensive repair for this unit generally is not recommended.
