Heil HCH6 Heat Pump Overview

The Heil HCH6 is a two-stage heat pump with an efficiency rating of up to 17.5 SEER and 9.5 HSPF. It is Energy Star qualified and dual fuel capable with a compatible gas furnace and thermostat. The unit's 2-stage scroll compressor offers consistent temperature and humidity levels, while high and low pressure switches and a filter drier provide system protection. A soft-mounted compressor, compressor blanket and Quiet Shift defrost help provide operating sound levels as low as 68 decibels. An Observer communicating wall control allows the convenience of remote access, along with full-color touchscreen diagnostics. A galvanized steel cabinet with a baked-on powder coat finish protects the unit from corrosion and weather hazards.

Heil Heat Pump Reviews

"Maintenance issues"

Very Unsatisfied

We bought the 16 seer 2 stage in 2013. We call the service man who installed it at least 2 to 3 times a year for different issues. This is a 3 ton and not worth the money. Our service guy tells us he doesn't handle the Heil and will not recommend it. We are stuck with a poor system now. We have a 2 ton sitting next to it and had no issues but it is a single stage. Same installer. I don't know if the 16 seer is installed wrong or its the heat pump.

"No Labor coverage"

1.0 rating
Very Unsatisfied

We purchased the home from new owners 5 months ago. The home is 14 months old. The interior unit has developed a Freon leak and has to run on emergency heat.( Very expensive). The dealer that did the original installation told us only the interior part had to be replaced and all the labor was our responsibility. No fault of the dealer, it's the Heil warranty that is the problem. When you have a newer unit that is only 14 months old you would think the labor to replace their unit would be covered, but no it is now…Shame. So if you are going to be purchasing one set aside $150.00 a month for future unit failure. My invoice called the model a fmx4x4800. I do not see it on the list above
