Corporate History

Danby was founded in Montreal in 1947 as a producer of hot plates and slow cookers. Today, along with its Canadian headquarters, the company has locations in Ohio, Massachusetts, and Guangzhou, China. Danby markets but does not manufacture its products, and is affiliated with manufacturers in the United States, Mexico, and China.

Product Lines

Danby offers six models of portable air conditioners ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 BTU. These units are designed to cool rooms ranging from 250 to 450 square feet, and some models are equipped with multiple fans, remote controls, and several design features.

Danby’s large line of window air conditioners includes models ranging for 5,000 to 25,000 BTU and are designed to cool areas ranging from 250 to 1,500 square feet. Features on some models include LED display, sleep mode and multiple fans.

Danby window and portable air conditioners are covered by a 30-day plastic parts warranty and a 1-year functional parts and labor warranty.
