McQuay International, also known as Daikin Applied in the United States, offers air conditioning, heating, ventilating and refrigeration units. McQuay International is headquartered in Hong Kong, with U.S. headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. The company is owned by Daikin, a fortune 1000 company. Daikin reported revenue of approximately $18.4 billion USD in 2017.
McQuay’s origins date back to 1872, known for its manufacturing of a steam engine, with the formation of Remington Machine Co. Over time, the company grew through a variety of acquisitions and mergers with companies that include Singer, American Air Filter, Perfex, American Furnace Co., Westinghouse and Herman Nelson Co. The McQuay name emerged around 1933. In 1984 McQuay was acquired by SnyderGeneral Corp., only to be purchased ten years later by O.Y.L. Industries Bhd.
In 2006, Daikin Industries Ltd. acquired O.Y.L. and its McQuay International subsidiary. The name Daikin McQuay was adopted in 2011 to, as the company puts it, “represent the integration of Daikin technology into McQuay International solutions.”
McQuay International operates in North America, Europe and Asia, with more than 13 manufacturing plants. The company has a presence in 75 countries and employs over 15,000 people.

Enabling the user to remotely control their HVAC system, they advertise the system as a plug-and-play solution.<
Daikin recycled 150,000 tons of materials in 2017. This was verified by a third party.
Daikin Applied offers the Daikin Learning Institute for HVAC experts and owners. It is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and may issue Continue Education Units. The goal of the program is to better educate professionals so that McQuay products receive better service.
