New Jersey-based Lux Products Corp. is a privately-held company that makes thermostats primarily, but also manufactures appliance timers and replacement parts and supplies for ranges. The company has a satellite facility in Laredo, Texas, and posts annual sales of about $7.5 million.
Lux Products' History
Lux Products was formed in 1912 on the basis of a single product–timers. These products evolved into Lux's now recognizable 60-Minute Timers. But over the years, Lux's line has expanded. While timers remain a key component of its business, Lux now manufactures a full line of thermostats as well as range replacement products.
Lux makes an array of thermostats, including its EcoStat mechanical line, which work on most 24V Systems, 1 Heat/1 Cool gas or oil systems, or wire hot water systems. The company also makes a CAG1500 CleanCycle thermostat, which is designed to ensure that the heating and air conditioning fan runs for a set duration of time each hour to circulate and filter the air in the home, thus providing cleaner air. The CleanCycle system also includes a graphical filter monitor that indicates when the filter needs to be replaced. The ELV4 leads Lux's programmable line voltage line of thermostats, offering four settings per day. Lux's wholesale division, LuxPro, offers its Pro-Fit Series of thermostats, which feature the universal replacement Everything Stat and patent-pending IAQ Clean Cycle technology. The Pro-Fit Series includes five models.
The Lux Warranty
Lux thermostats are all covered by a three-year warranty for "defects in materials or workmanship." In such a case, Lux will either repair or replace the product, at the company's discretion.
