The Castle Serenity pellet stove is currently the only product offered by Castle Stoves. The unit has the capacity to heat home between 1,000 – 1,500 square feet. It comes equipped with a 40-pound hopper, programmable controls, and it is considered a small pellet stove, due to its small footprint. The stove measures 18.25” x 34” x 23.75”. In reviews several people mentioned that they bought the Serenity because it was the smallest stove they could find that met their capacity requirements.
We asked the manufacturer how hot the stove gets. Like most pellet stoves the glass viewing window gets hot enough to burn skin. Some homeowners, especially those with young children, opt to put a gate around it. The stove is made from steel, with a black finish. The front sides will get very hot, while the rear and back will become warm.
The stove comes with a built-in smart thermostat. This thermostat can be programmed to operate differently by days of the week or at different times of the day. You could, for example, program your stove to keep your home cooler during working hours on weekdays, and to keep it warmer in the evenings and on weekends. Unfortunately, however, the unit is not compatible with an external thermostat, meaning that you can’t connect the stove to the central thermostat that controls your furnace.
The stove generally retails for around USD $999.99, before shipping and installation.
