Whitfield Wood Stove Overview

Whitfield is a discontinued brand of pellet stoves and fireplace inserts. Whitfield was a part of Lennox Hearth Products, now known as Innovative Hearth Products.

Corporate History

The Whitfield stove was first produced by Dr. Jerry Whitfield, a former Boeing engineer. He founded Pyro Industries, Inc. to market the stoves, which he first introduced in 1984 at the Wood Heating Alliance show. The company’s first facility was located in Lynnwood, WA, and from there moved to Everett, WA, and in 1990 moved to a 115,000 square foot plant in Burlington, WA.

In 1990 Pyro Industries was sold to Lennox Hearth Products. In 2012 Lennox Hearth Products was sold to Comvest, and investment firm, and merged with Innovative Hearth Products, which became the company’s name in 2014. The Whitfield line of pellet stoves was discontinued in 2014.

Product Lines

The Whitfield line of pellet stoves included the Cascade and the Profile. The Cascade was a traditional-looking stove with a heating capacity of up to 1500 square feet and a burn time of up to 40 hours. The Profile was a bay window stove designed to heat up to 1900 square feet and was available in 2 sizes, the 20” and the 30”. There was also a Profile Insert stove which heated up to 1900 square feet and had a burn time of 30 hours.

Warranty

Whitfield pellet stoves were covered by a 20-year limited warranty. The warranty applied to the original owner and installation address and covered the body, heat exchange tubes and glass.
